Greg Wallig appointed head of Public Policy for Grant Thornton

 

Wallig, a veteran Grant Thornton leader with nearly 30 years of experience, will continue to serve as the market managing principal in the firm’s MetroDC-Arlington office

 

CHICAGO and WASHINGTON, D.C., — Grant Thornton LLP, one of America’s largest audit, tax and advisory firms, has appointed Greg Wallig as head of Public Policy for the firm. In this role, the longtime Washington, D.C., business leader will manage the firm’s government affairs team, develop and implement the firm’s advocacy strategy, and lead outreach to Capitol Hill, the White House and federal agencies.  

 

Wallig, who has served in successive leadership roles for the firm for more than 18 years, will also continue to serve as the market managing principal in Grant Thornton’s MetroDC-Arlington office.

In his role as market managing principal of Grant Thornton’s MetroDC-Arlington office, Wallig is responsible for the firm’s culture, growth and strategy in the Washington, D.C. region. He serves as the focal point between his local clients and Grant Thornton’s nearly 50 offices throughout the country, as well as the firm’s international network of member firms.

 

For the last three years, Wallig was recognized as one of the 500 most powerful and influential people in business by Virginia Business magazine. He is also currently serving on the boards of the Virginia Society of CPAs, the Global Fund for Children, the Rosslyn Business Improvement District, the Greater Washington Board of Trade, William & Mary’s Mason School of Business and the Grant Thornton PAC.
