DALLAS — Grant Thornton, one of America’s largest brands of professionals providing end-to-end audit, assurance, tax and advisory services, has earned a new achievement in Texas. The firm’s Dallas office, which includes roughly 500 professionals, has been designated a “Best Place for Working Parents” by the Dallas Regional Chamber.
The firm’s Dallas office has received this distinction every year since 2021, when the chamber and PNC Bank launched the program. Recipients are chosen based on the family-friendly benefits they offer employees.
“We take our benefits very seriously, and we carefully design them to support working parents and all of our people,” said Doreen Griffith, the firm’s market managing principal in Dallas. “This recognition from our great friends at the Dallas Regional Chamber belongs to every Grant Thornton team member who has shared their unique needs and worked with us to strengthen our benefits and our entire culture.”
Some of the key benefits and initiatives that contributed to this achievement include:
- Childcare Support: The firm offers in-home or center-based backup care through Care.com, providing up to 20 days of backup care annually. This benefit ensures that parents have reliable childcare options during unexpected situations.
- Flexible Work Arrangements: Grant Thornton provides flexible work arrangements, including remote work options and flexible hours, to help parents manage their responsibilities effectively.
- Parental Leave Policy: The firm’s parental leave policy offers 12 weeks of paid time off for new parents, whether through birth, adoption or placement.
- Fertility and Adoption Benefits: Grant Thornton offers fertility benefits through Progyny, including access to a fertility treatment network and coverage for treatments. Additionally, the firm provides partial reimbursement for adoption and surrogacy expenses.
- Additional resources: Employees have access to a range of resources, including mental health support through ComPsych and Optum Counselors and wellness programs through the platform Happify. Additionally, the firm is home to a wide range of Business Resource Groups, including a Working Parents & Allies cohort that provides ongoing support, resources and programming for working parents in Dallas and across the country.
This new distinction from the Dallas Regional Chamber also continues a string of honors for the firm on both the local and national level. Over the last month, Grant Thornton leaders have won awards in major markets such as New York, San Francisco and Chicago.
In Dallas, the firm started 2024 with a “Leader in Diversity” award from the Dallas Business Journal. Grant Thornton was also one of just three organizations to be named a “Working Parents Innovator” in Dallas in January.
More recently, Griffith was part of a select group of finalists for the chamber’s ATHENA Leadership award. These annual honors recognize exceptional women who excel in their careers, contribute to their communities and develop women leaders.
“Doreen and our Dallas team have done an incredible job supporting each other and building a caring, high-performance community,” said Nichole Jordan, the managing principal of Grant Thornton’s Texoma region. “We know taking care of each other helps us take care of our clients and deliver personalized, high-quality services, and I’m looking forward to building on the momentum of this kind recognition from the chamber.”
